Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
5.0

Man, I don't think any other book would make me cry since New Moon, but damn did I not stop crying when the read this book. I think I cried so much more in [b:New Moon|49041|New Moon (Twilight, #2)|Stephenie Meyer|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/414jgcy2FAL._SL75_.jpg|3203964] when Edward left.

I am writing this five minutes after reading, because I just finished it today. -- So please understand that I am still recovering right now from this crazy depression that my writing may seem too emotional. LOL.

I wasn't expecting something like this, really. I was thinking of the ending of the last two books, maybe something shakening, something shocking, something terribly exciting, but this book made me cry so much more than I ever expected to in any other book. I was expecting a happy ending, something cheerful, something that would bring great change, but something happy. Not this. Not this at at all.
It made me feel so much more, I couldn't take it. The moment she mentioned Dimitri got bitten I could not stop crying at all. The ending- it was the best.

It broke the rules, which was very very very depressing, but it was good. The rules are simply this, or rather is simply this:
A good ending.
Every book somehow has a good ending, something that resolves, something that has a solution. Yet this book, the ending was sad, not disappointing in a way that did not satisfy the readers or let them down, but in a way that was terribly heartaching that you just couldn't help but cry.
This book was the best. Best of all three in a sense that it was crazy. It was wild. It was funny, it was sad. Be prepared when you read this book, the ending is something you will not expect. Brace yourselves. I mean it.
