Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

5.0

I always enjoy reading fantasy novels. Ever since I read a review on Six of Crows duology I was dying to read it. It is based on the concept of Garishaverse triology.
(I don't think I can review such an amazing book but still I'm trying.)

Synopsis

This is the story of some dangerous young criminals of Dreg in Ketterdam. Kaz Brekker, a seventeen years old lieutenant of Dregs, known by the names of "Dirtyhands" and Bastard of the barrel because he is a ruthless, manipulative and cunning. Kaz has a tragic history and he is working on a great plan to take his vengeance from the king of barrel Pekka Rollins. He gets a job from a member of Merchant Council, Jan Van Eck to break into the most secure court of Fjerda “The Ice Court” and steal a valuable prisoner, a scientist, Bo Yul-Bayur. It is an impossible heist but Kaz couldn’t resist the offer of thirty million kruge. For this impossible mission his team includes the best members of the Dregs which include of Inej Ghafa (his Wraith and spy), Nina Zenik (a Heartrender_garisha), Jesper Fahey (a sharpshooter), Wylan Van Eck (demo and hostage), Matthias Helvar (Fjerdan). After surviving some dangerous incidents, they manage to enter the ice court. But after entering the ice court they come to know that the prisoner they intended to kidnap is already dead. The crew takes his son Kuwei Yul-Bo working on the same project. This heist ends up to be a trick set up by the merchant. Jan Van Eck takes Inej with him and asks for the prisoner in exchange.

Leigh Bardugo has beautifully constructed the whole story with a lot of twists and surprises. It is a must read.
