I’ve gotten so into short story collections in 2021, and Sabrina & Corina did not disappoint!  I absolutely loved this collection of stories, all centered on Latina women with Indigenous roots living in and around Denver, Colorado.

I feel like each story in this collection was so layered that you could go back and read each story multiple times and discover something new.  In fact, I really think I’m going to re read this one in 2022 and take the time to really savor each story.  I think this is one that deserves a deeper reading from me.

This collection is about identity, traditions & heritage, gentrification, mothers & daughters, friendship, displacement, generational trauma, and feminine power.

I highly recommend this one to anyone looking to get into short stories!  It’s packed full of gems!

Also, can we take a minute to appreciate this absolutely STUNNING cover art?! I think this wins the gold for my favorite cover of the books I’ve read this year.
