Someone Else's Daughter by Linsey Lanier
4.0
This book was recommended to me by a student. She finished the whole series in a matter of a week and a half, so I knew the story must be riveting. Miranda is searching for her biological daughter who was unknowingly put up for adoption thirteen years ago. In the midst of desperately following a possible lead, Miranda stumbles on a series of murders in a suburb of Atlanta. She also crosses paths with a detective, Wade Parker, who takes her under his wing in his detective agency after he witnesses her true potential. Miranda's grit and imperfections as a character are what set this book apart from other mysteries. I think many students would enjoy the mystery, humor, and action of this story.
