Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
3.0
I enjoyed the story until
I also wasn't very convinced by Wendell and Emily's romance. I didn't feel like Emily at any point express interest in Wendell other than "oh, wait he's kind of handsome". Her interest in him felt very abrupt and jarring
Overall, the worldbuilding and faeries were what kept me reading the book.
Spoiler
Emily got captured by the ancient faerie king. I felt bored by all the constant descriptions of Emily being enchanted. It felt like the same plot point over and over for several chapters.I also wasn't very convinced by Wendell and Emily's romance.
