A Dress the Color of the Sky by Jennifer Irwin

dark emotional hopeful reflective sad tense medium-paced

5.0

Wow...this was not at all what I expected. Beautiful, intense, heartbreaking...and at times darkly humorous.

Addiction, in any form, is tough. It affects more than just the person suffering, causing pain for friends and families as well.

When you read A Dress the Color of the Sky you are in the midst of everything that Prue feels...all her vulnerabilities and pain, and her horrific treatment as a child. My heart hurt for her while at the same time opened up emotions across the board.

This is a perfect example of how we, as fellow humans, should not judge others. We do not know what they have been through, what they have survived or what they are going through in the present.

This may be hard for some to read as it deals with sexual trauma and healing but if you don't have severe adverse reactions to such topics I would recommend picking this one up. It's very insightful and mind-opening.

I sincerely appreciate the author for the review copy. While a review wasn't expected, I have offered my opinion and these are my own thoughts.
