Jack of Fables, Vol. 3: The Bad Prince by Tony Akins, Russ Braun, Andrew Pepoy, Bill Willingham, Lilah Sturges, Andrew Robinson

3.0

Quite the number of revelations in this one, not the least being that Jack is actually capable of caring about others, as evidenced in his desire to shield Gary from the worst of a car crash and his ability to set Priscilla's broken wrist. He also plays a game of bad news/good news, learns about his connection to Wicked John, gets stuck through with a sword (a nice voodoo link to a scene in The Good Prince in which the cubs are playing with a Jack figure and the same happens), makes a new friend/spirit guide and reveals that his longevity is actually due to ongoing pacts with different devils, each more soul-destroying than the last. Watch out, Jack Jnr (son of Lumi); your soul is in danger.
