Play Along (Windy City Book 4)
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“C’mon wife. Play along.”
“Grief seems like a privilege, in a way,” she says. “To have loved someone so much that you can’t imagine life without them.”
“I live, laugh, love you too.”

Okay. I'm convinced. Liz Tomforde is a genius. How is this one a 5 ⭐️ too ??? She is a literal magician, and I have yet to be disappointed with anything she has written.
This book. This book. I don't know if I was prepared for Isaiah's story, but what can I say? I loved it!!! I absolutely love a good marriage of convenience, and I was certainly here for this one. Liz Tomforde did such a great job with plot, character, and relationship development in this book, as well as, weaving in characters from past books. I don't know how it could have been better.
These two characters. We have been waiting for this moment between Kennedy and Isaiah, and as I said, it did not disappoint. I enjoyed getting both Kennedy's and Isaiah's back stories. I felt like we had been waiting 3 books to hear their personal history, as well as, how they actually met. Their meeting was perfection. I also loved that we get to see a more vulnerable side to them both in this novel. It truly made me as a reader understand and connect with them better.
I enjoyed the route Liz takes in this book with the plot. I loved the banter. I loved the "teach me" moments. I loved Isaiah's encouragement and support in anything Kennedy did. I also, loved their playfulness with each other. They were literally perfect for each other, everything was chef's kiss.
Lastly, I am not an emotional person nor an emotional reader, but this book got me, especially during Kai's scene on the field! Did I cry? Yes. Yes I did. It really pulled at my heartsrings, and I loved getting that moment between Kai and Isaiah.
Overall, 10 out of 10 recommend!
