Lovely, whimsical and touching. The gentle unfurling of characters is very moving, and the book as a whole is a lovely meditation on the impact we have on the world even through the smallest thing. There is a lovely theme of the basic generosity of the human spirit, whether that is in sharing food or in giving time to listen; along with a wry look at the fact that even the best intentions don’t always have the impact we expect. Overall, a lovely reminder to be kind in the world and to ourselves; to be present; and the importance of giving and receiving love.
