So I read this for a YA seminar class about mystery and horror and was really looking forward to it since It is a YA modern retelling of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None." While it is suspenseful, it does have a twist I wasn't expecting, it ultimately falls flat for me. I think the flat characters were a big problem, and in order to tell the mystery any characterization was left out. I was left with two characters at the end, that despite going through an almost 300 page journey with- I still feel like I didn't know. Plus they weren't half as traumatized as I thought they should be. I really wanted to like this book more than I did, but I just couldn't-I usually love YA but this one, eh I couldn't get into.
