“He wished that the mathematics of the world were like the mathematics of the heart - then his equal love and hate would mean he felt nothing instead of double.”

It isn’t often that I read an erotica book where I’m more interested in the story and writing than the sex. Don’t misunderstand me the sex is still really hot, extremely hot and I will say that it pushed my boundaries a time or two but I am completely interested in the actual story happening and I’m invested in the characters.

I shouldn’t like this series….there is a lot of polyamory going on. Nora loves Søren and Wes, Søren loves Nora and Kingsley, Kingsley loves Søren and Juliette and Wes….well Wes just loves Nora. One of these things is not like the other. Normally the love of more than one person would really bother me…has bothered me in other series. In this book I love them all and just want everyone to get their own HEA.

He’d fallen in love with her instead. And whether she realized it or not, because of his love for her, she owned him as much as he owned her.

I was a little nervous going into this for a few reasons. I already have my heart set on what I wanted for Søren’s BDSM HEA. He is by far my favorite character in the series and the chapters with him and Kingsley both in the past and present were intense. I didn’t really understand the dynamic between Søren/Kingsley/Nora up to this point. While some of it is still well beyond my monogamous heart their story is somewhat beautiful in its own way. I was worried that I would hate Kingsley for being in love with Søren but I fell in love with their story too as much as I loved the beginnings of Søren and Nora’s story.

“Nora could hurt his body in beautiful ways. But only Søren could tear open his soul.”

Nora bothers me most of the time by herself. I like it when I see her through Kingsley or Søren’s eyes much more than when she is the PoV. She is humanized by them a little more than when she is being snarky and trying to push everyone’s buttons.

All of the Søren and Kingley chapters were intense as they are trying to uncover who is behind the threatening messages. Then the feel of the story shifts when we are with Nora and Wesley to a calmer and more low key feeling. Wes is comforting and comfortable but it all felt so wrong to me. He is a cute kid but I never really thought he understood Nora. She is a princess to be saved in his eyes and we all know that she is almost as dangerous as the dragon, even when she is hiding in submissive clothing.

“I learned to pick locks to piss him off. I wanted him to know that anything he put me into, I could get out of. Even if I didn’t try.”
“Why? I thought you loved him.”
“I do love him. Love and having an escape plan are not mutually exclusive. They are, in fact, both highly recommended.

I didn’t hate their chapters together I also did not love them either. Nora is far more interesting when she is with Søren or talking about that world. There were also a few things that I found slightly uncomfortable
SpoilerFirst being how she would talk to Wesley about Søren or Kingsley or Griffin for that matter right before or during sex. True I wanted to hear about Søren instead of thinking about Nora having sex with Wes but I’m sure Wes did.

The Prince was the best in the series so far and I was really surprised by what I thought my definition of a BDSM HEA changed throughout. I recommend this to anyone that likes something smutty sometimes but also wants it to have complex characters and an actual story.
