Prep School Confidential
by Kara Taylor, Kara Thomas
When Anne is excluded from her exclusive school she knows she has only herself to blame. She was, after all, the one who burned down part of her school although she didn’t intend to. Her willingness to do things that others would baulk at might get her into trouble but it certainly makes for some interesting situations.
Her father gets her a place at a prep school in Boston. She imagines it’ll be bad, but within a week of her arrival her roommate is dead and nothing could prepare her for how bad it gets.
Anne is rather naive but I like that she has a clear moral compass and will put herself in danger in order to try and do something she believes in. She uncovers all manner of secrets and we build up quite a list of potential suspects before she finally works out what happened. Along the way she gets a bit of a romantic dilemma going on with Isabella’s brother and nice boy, Brent. She does some pretty crazy things but she also manages to take on some deeply ingrained prejudices.
Light-hearted fun, and it certainly makes me want to read the next instalment.
