The Riddle-Master of Hed by Patricia A. McKillip

2.0

Rushed and forced most of the way through... though I did enjoy the twist at the ending. It's honestly amazing how many stories McKillip tried to fit into 180ish pages here, but instead of it feeling brimming with plot (like a Robin Hobby novel) it feels more and more like a barrage of rushed story and info-dumping prose. It's so fast paced It's hard to see which are the important story bits and which are descriptive prose and world-building, thus it makes the story hard to follow.

Overall, it's an easy read but ultimately a forgettable one...
