4.0
A delightfully cozy 4 stars. I laughed, I cried, and I laughed some more.
Liked:
+ Grumpy/sunshine romance trope
+ Found family
+ Diverse cast of characters
+ Explores themes of self worth, what it means to let yourself be loved after being hurt, being 'othered' in society and the emotional weight that can bring, healing from past trauma, and the importance of community
+ Some plot twists that I did not see coming with those sunflowers (iykyk)
Didn't love:
- the main 'issue' was resolved quickly and easily over a few pages, which felt like a bit of a letdown after all the build up, tension, and emotional upheaval around it
