Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

I really loved this book, AND I felt it had some noticeable flaws. I felt Eli's character wasn't fully developed; at times it felt difficult to understand whether he was one way or another. When he started using pet names it felt like they came out of nowhere. And at times he just felt too perfect, too much of a knight in shining armor. On the other hand, I liked Rue's character and understood what she was like and what motivated her, but I found her physical description too... vague? My takeaway was that she's tall and lush, but also athletic so she's not plus sized? And she has blue eyes, like eeeevery other character in this book lol. I found it a weird choice for Rue's chapters to be written in first person while Eli's chapters were written in third person. It didn't bother me, but it also didn't make sense. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to read a book with complex characters with trauma and lots of sex.
