War with the Newts by Karel Čapek
4.0
4.5 stars.
LOVED the first third/half of the book. Great mix of sarcasm, wit and genuinely funny moments. The other parts I found... A bit long. Not the same pace and wit as the first part. More like a quite dry history of little events, which started of as fun little knowledge but then got tiring. The ending chapter where the author talks to himself, the author, was a real fun surprise and really made the allegory man=newt quite clear. A bit on the nose maybe, but fun writing and fun reading.
