Osman has found a great recipe for his books. They’re entertaining, and the who dunit part is always nicely crafted. Yet, this book was nowhere near as entertaining as his Thursday Murder Club series.
You still have the awkward and quirky characters, the funny banter, but for some reason it just fell short of what Osman has accustomed me to. It might just be a me problem, after all the series about retirees solving murders has been a favorite of mine since I first discovered it.
I will still read the second book when it comes out though.
