The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi

3.0

it astounds me every time fantasy authors can seamlessly weave real world social commentary into the worlds they create. I loved the world building, but I was kind of bored by the plotline involving the trials. I also didn't feel attached nor invested in any of the characters.

However, I did rate this a 3 with full intention of continuing the series and having higher hopes for the sequel because I've seen how much her writing has evolved in Faebound, aka one of my new favorite books of all time.
