2.0

Honestly, 2 stars just bc one is for Kierarktina and one for Malec.
I loved other side couples but for the rest: what the actual fuck.
Jules had my heart only when making strategies, Emma is so whiny and together they are the definition of unbearable, cringey and over sappy.
The book had a lot of potential but the plot wasn't it. It was confusing, barely there. It was like reading four different books smashed together. I found myself asking 'what's the point?' too much times.
A lot of sentences repeated, useless conversations and same topics said in 3 different ways.
Even loving Magnus and Alec, i really disliked the over-use of the characters from TMI. Jem and Tessa were there too but, honestly, why? why so much things? why reusing and reusing the characters so many times? they fell flat and I'm sure they were there just as an excuse to use them in the next books, a g a i n. I wanna see more of Ty, Dru and Kit (especially Kit and Ty) bc i enjoyed them in the other book but in this one, they felt really blant. I understand they went through a lot of things but it still didn't worked for me.
The last battle felt like a fever dream, a poo  excuse to let Jules and Emma have an happy ending and strip them of their parabatai bond.  I really wanted to skip all the thing, it was physically unbearable.
I'm truly unhappy about how they handled the Cohort and their allies but whatever.
And don't let me start with the whole 'other dimensions' and shit. Big no. Boring, almost useless and i was ready to skip it all. No jokes.
I don't understand why this book should be this long when C.C. could have easily cut out a lot of things.
I don't know, this whole saga was a flop, it felt worse than TMI and i found Emma more annoying than Clary which is a lot, tbh.
I hope to not see Emma in the next books, to have decent developments of characters and see Ty/Kit happy. But especially Kier, Mark and Tina. The only ones who should be allowed to have screen time.
btw, why using so many characters if you don't actually know how to write em? 🤨
