Reread this book after 4 years. Glad to say that I enjoyed as much as I once did. Great read!

This book exceed way past my all expectations of it, so good. I was really fascinated by the story line the entire way, and I just cannot put this book down. It is really unique and interesting. Love the characters in this book too. When I saw that this book is made by a debute author, I just cannot believe it. Wow! I am really impressed and just cannot wait to see the sequel of this book, and all the other books that Alwyn Hamilton will write in the future. Will definitely read the sequel.
So, what is this book about?
Well, the store opens up with our main female protagonist, Amani Al'Hiza entering a shooting contact disguising as a boy, because female aren't allow to enter and she desperately need money so that she can get out of Dustwalk, the town she lives in. The reason why she desperately needed money to leave the town is because if she doesn't, she will be forced to marry her uncle, and she does not want to end up with that fate. While she was in the contest, she met this very mysterious young boy- a foreigner. And things happens, and she ends up leaving the town with him.
And who is the mysterious boy, and where are they going? You will need to read and find out! I found that going in this book without knowing too much is the best way of diving deep into this book. Plus, I must say that what I really liked about this book is that Amani isn't a girl who needs a guy's protection all the time. She is strong, independent, and very good at shooting a gun. I also liked how the romance in this book wasn't too rush. It develops slowly through time and not love and kissing at first sight. It grows from partners, to friendship, and finally to love interest. And finally, there us Jin. The wonderful Jin that brings a smile to your face. Love him so much.
Overall, I recommend all fantasy lovers to read this book. It is really fantastic. For those who thought the cover doesn't look that interesting (like me when I first saw this book), just ignore it. The content is the amazing, and you won't regret reading it. Also, since it is a fast past book, you would finish it in no time.
