avenging someone else’s murder is OUT, avenging your own murder is IN
im glad petros’ annoying ass got what he deserved, let it be known that i never liked that mf!! he was so combative and clearly didn’t respect maddileh despite being her “squire”, which is crazy bc the things id do for her would get me sent to prison if i typed them out.
the way she was right about mages in the worst way possible💀 that plot twist was crazy and it almost took me outta the story but I’ve come to terms with it. it pissed me off in a good way bc while there was some foreshadowing, i was completely blindsided but it was executed well. speaking of, the worldbuilding and dragon lore was rlly rlly interesting; i liked the stuff with the knights vs the mages and how much the story humanized the dragons - it seemed like more often than not they were just chillin, but then they got killed in gruesome ways😭 that one dragon who was trying to scoop its guts back inside itself while it died is gonna haunt me for the rest of my days. justice for the dragons fr
i wasn't expecting to only get hints at a sapphic romance, but considering what happens at the end of ACT 2 im not all that mad about it. im curious about the second book bc maddileh and saralene were cute and im glad they were able to fuck shit up together <3
the only thing I couldn’t believe is that maddileh ever liked a man. i love a bisexual queen but i don’t believe she’d ever fall for a douchey lord or whatever tf considering her whole deal and personality.
