Interesting and fun take on the murder mystery genre. It was fun having the narrator speaking to you, telling you how it was a murder mystery and breaking down all the rules and tropes for you, actively dropping the clues and encouraging you to try and figure it out.
Ultimately I think it was fair play. The clues were there, and I think I guessed a couple of the twists or actions of a couple of characters, and I believe that if I gave it a genuine and thoughtful crack I would have guessed who the murderer was. The clues are definitely there - pay attention to the rules that he clearly states throughout the book.
For me though, I prefer to be taken along for the ride and not spend too much time and brainpower figuring these out, I love the suspense and the surprise.
Fun book.
