Was fairly disappointed with this book, as I thought the concept was really interesting and had the potential to be really great, but it unfortunately just wasn’t executed well enough.

I had no emotional connection to the characters, and the development between the main characters’ relationship just felt awfully forced.
I could definitely believe that these two would have been friends, but the transition of their relationship into a more romantic one felt very artificial, and happened just because. There was just no romantic chemistry between them at all.
The character development felt very sudden and unnatural, and how the pair overcome their fears that easily just didn’t seem realistic.

Perhaps people in their teens may enjoy this book more, as it’s fairly simple and while covering a topic as profound as death, is easy to digest and doesn’t go into too many of the moral complexities involved with such a topic.
