-it was difficult to get into this in English, plus the multiple pov's seemed fragmented in the beginning, but as the story progressed I was able to get immersed in it
-this one has very different themes from the first one: war, the meaning of we, what language is, how alien aliens really are, viceral fear from entire species unknown, consuming, hive minds
-this one has more cold, steely impressions than the first one, which was orange, warm and sandy
-its incredible how this book approaches language, cultures, communication and diplomacy, a man could never write like this
-Eight Antidote navigating high-level political, adult spaces while being a clever child was fascinating. Adults reacted to him like an adult, while very subtly he and the adults mutually used his allure, because he reminded them of his clone, the last emperor which are themes I have never read before
