I loved the romance, but I loved the friendships even more. This book felt extremely believable and hit a little too close to home at times. I think there was a lot of nuance the author navigated well while feeling authentic rather than preachy. What makes it 5 stars for me is how developed the protagonist was as a whole person outside of the relationship and the accountability for her flaws.
My only criticism is how much time is spent discussing Tulsa history without acknowledging how Black Wallstreet was a massive part of Tulsa
