I wanted to like this book more than I did, and certainly didn't find it as funny as I had hoped.

An interesting premise, a man dies at his birthday party and we find him in limbo until he can tell the powers that be he knows how he died and move onto the next place - wherever that might be.

Anthony was not a pleasant man when he was alive, and shows no remorse in death, and his friends and family members are not much better.

Chapters are narrated from the POV of Anthony, his wife and "the Sleuth" who is a somewhat obsessed small scale true crime social media influencer as we work towards finding out how Anthony died.

I did finish, but many times I asked myself why I kept reading as all of the characters were frankly unpleasant and somehow the novel didn't prove as clever as I had hoped
