I love how Jenny Hann writes. Her other series, To All The Boys I've Loved Before, its one of my comfort reads. This book really shows what I love about her writting, it uses the most irrelevant details to give you better context of the plot and the character's feelings.
That being said, even though I love the way she writes, I couldn't really like the characters. Belly, the main character, was so insufferable and self centered. The other ones just didn't raise any special feelings in me. The only character I actually liked a lot was Cam, Belly's little summer fling, whose only purpose in the plot was stir up drama in the main love triangle she has with the brothers.
I am not one to enjoy love triangles, it has to be a good one for me to actually enjoy it. This one wasn't it. It felt forced. Conrad was being an asshole up until 90% into the book and Jeremiah just feels like a best friend.
The ending left me confused. It was so random.
I will keep reading the series solely because I want to watch the TV show.
