Book offers a strong depiction of Tejano culture. Author also explores themes like female anger, grief, and intergenerational trauma. The main protagonist is well written and has believable responses to different events and relationships in her life. Her relationship with her Dad and best friend is well explored. Overall good book that gives insight into the Tejano and Mexican cultures on the southern border.
