A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
5.0
I expected to be wrecked. As the tears flowed and I read through squinty, watery eyes, I expected this book to take a piece of my heart.
Did it? Yes. But not in the broken hearted sort of way.
Does that mean it had less of an impact? I don’t know. Time will tell.
At this moment, I have loved this series and these characters. So much was taken from them in the series history that I was rooting for a happy ending.
But at the same time, that seemingly happily ever after, gifted to us with a Cauldron blessed bow, seemed a little too perfect and pristine for the grime of this series.
Still. Five stars. I can’t remember the last time I devoured 700+ pages as quickly as I did this. A masterful blend of action, magic, romance, chosen family, courage, and growth.
