Ove stole my heart from the beginning of this book. Sure he's a grumpy old man, but he also cannot keep himself from helping his neighbors despite thinking they are idiots who can't do anything. I just love how they don't leave him alone even though he wants them to. His story is heartbreaking, and he needs them despite thinking he doesn't.
