I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first, now that I'm more familiar with the world-building and politics, as well as the names and roles of each character. The stakes were higher, which was fun. I'm also loving all the characters and the friendships being formed. Lots of wholesome found-family vibes. There's still a nice, angsty, slow burn romance on the side, but otherwise, I would say this series is more focused on political intrigue and the overarching storyline, which I'm really enjoying so far.
