Confessions of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell

5.0

I read this during a rainy couple of days cloistered in an apartment in Krakow, with this book acting as the reading equivalent of a warm fuzzy blanket. Blythell is effortlessly amusing as he recounts the day to day goings on of running a book shop. As realistic as it is there’s also something overwhelming dreamy about listening to his days surrounded by interesting characters coming and going - and more importantly surrounded by hundreds of books. I read this in about 24hrs, and not only enjoyed it thoroughly but got some further book recommendations along the way. Definitely in the autumnal comfort read category.
