Paris: The Memoir
by Paris Hilton
emotional
informative
reflective
fast-paced
It's really hard for me to rate a memoir. It's someone's most intimate thoughts and someone's personal life. How can I rate them on their experiences.
Although Paris and I are roughly the same age, I can't say I've ever followed Paris closely. I knew that she was on television and remember her being in the weekly magazines as a socialite. I had neutral feelings about her. A friend gifted me Paris Hilton's memoir so I took it on.
Learning about Paris' teen years was heart-wrenching. There were parts that I wish she had shared more. She mentions in the book that she's said hurtful things and I wish she had expanded on that gave a more full-throated apology instead of the general apology and then quickly moved on.
In all, I found it a fast read and generally enjoyable but a little chaotic. (I realize she has ADHD and the book is written/edited the way it is for a reason.)
