In my opinion, this novel took a minute to get up to speed/suck me in. However, once I was in, I was IN. The character of Jane is devastating in the best possible way and August is so wonderfully relatable and loveable in her flaws. The cast is diverse in that beautiful way where their racial/gender/sexual identities are casually mentioned, rather than made a major plot point. I wish I could hang out in their cramped Brooklyn apartment. Love! A perfect Pride Month pick.
