Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous by Suzanne Park

3.0

Sunny Song Will Never Be Famous is about a social media obsessed girl who gets sent away to a digital detox camp.

Her entire summer at Sunshine Farms felt like a few days. There was more relationship drama than sneaking phones and filming where she shouldn’t have been. For example, they filmed an entire parody music video and had it edited in the length of a passing conversation but pages of why won’t this boy she likes go out with her. I would have assumed filming an “illegal” video at a digital detox camp would have cause some panic and coordination that you never find out about.

The story in general was predictable and sometimes sounded like it was preaching the bad influences of social media, which I thought was funny because I won this book from the author off of Instagram.

It’s the classic story of not knowing what is in front of you until you step back and realize what life is really all about. It’s not about the superficial, instead it’s about the relationships you have with those around you.
