Okay, pacing was a real issue in this book. The first half was remarkably slow, fairly good for character development at times, but not much else. And then everything happened at once and didn't stop until the last ten or so pages. The people dealt with in the second half were also largely strangers to me, since so much of the first half was spent on three major characters, which meant I didn't feel much empathy for them. Then, at the very end, came the plot-twist points designed to keep you reading the series, but I'm honestly not sure it's worth it.
