The Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer
4.0

A really interesting read of a Gr/Fr soldier’s experience in the Russian Front. The pros about this book is it’s raw description of fighting a war. It does not hold back and you can almost taste and smell the horrors. The cons is that the author writing this book years after the war must have know how awful the Gr were is Russia but ignored this.
