I was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading "The Scarlet Letter". While the book could be improved upon by a harsh editor- there are SO many unnecessary words- the plot line, narration, and overall character development were impeccable. I see why this is often used in English classes- it demonstrates great technique in storytelling and foreshadowing. All in all, a good read if you have the time & patience ( & ability to skim).
