Foretold: 14 Tales of Prophecy and Prediction by Carrie Ryan

4.0

I am a huge fan of short stories, especially short stories that are a bit eerie and untold of . Sadly, I did not read this because of Dimitri ( I understood nothing of the story Homecoming, maybe I need to read the series to earn those butterflies ) ... but I still enjoyed it. Laini Taylor's name was why I grasped this book, and afterwards I felt glad I did because the other authors also did a wonderful job and deserve credit. If I had to choose my favourites I would choose...

Gentlemen Send Phantoms, Laini Taylor
The way she wrote the story was unpredictable and beautiful Laini Taylor is lyrical in her writing, and I loved that the same music was included in this short story. I loved how as I read it, I felt I knew what was happening... but then I didn't.

Burned Bright , Diana Peterfreund
Biggest Plot Twist of the century! The characters were not as well-described as other stories, but short stories usually don't think about that. I loved the theme that was used here, and I love the powerful message that was carved into this short story.

One True Love ,Malinda Lo - because I love plot twists, I haven't read the rest of her books but I loved this story because it was cliche but it was also new.

Misery ,Heather Brewer - I loved the idea of this story, but I felt that it was incomplete somehow. Even though , I still have the story fresh in my mind.

The Mind Is A Powerful Thing, Matt de la Pena
Ugh, this story was genius and I didn't even notice that there was no mention of the carved message in the bodies later on in the story. If I could say it, this story seemed like it was written by Gillian Flynn. The strange twist and the sad truth was very astonishing and delightful to read.

The Chosen One, Saundra Mitchel
I loved the bond of the sisters, and the idea of the quest. I loved that this story was more about courage and love than one sister being more beautiful that the other.

Improbable Futures ,Kami Garcia

This story was alright-ish, but it was a predictable tale. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed reading it.

Fate,Simone Elkeles

A romantic tale that I gushed over... please do read it.

The Killing Garden,Carrie Ryan

The editor gets to add her story in! Yeah! I loved this edition! The Killing Garden was a creative piece and I loved reading it. It was fun to read, and I loved the main character. I felt joy for the main character and I felt pain for her when she had to kill her best friend. A emotional tale that has carved a space in my heart for me.

The rest, I do not wish to mention because although they were creative I was not impressed. I am also terrible at reviewing stories, and that may also be a reason... but thank you for reading my review and I do hope you read the rest of the book. The whole compilation is beautiful!
