The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

5.0

A guy in Greek armor drew his sword and charged, but slipped in a puddle of pina colada is enough of a statement to showcase what you're missing out on if you didn't OR you're not reading this series: an impeccable blend between greek myths, modern America and pre-teenagers. Per usual, I did see most of the twists coming but mainly due to the author's fondness to hints. The lightheartedness that comes along with every swipe of the pages made me devour this book in a few days. I'll gladly keep reading just for the way mythology keeps being incorporated into the modern world in such fun and clever ways. The Bermuda Triangle comment really took me out.
