Let me start out by saying I reread the last book to try to make sure I wasn't confused. Let me conclude that it didn't do a damn thing for me in that regard.

Please tell me there is a family tree resource for the Gods/demons, heck for all of it. This family tree thing is a big mess. I have to reread half the book to see if I can figure out who is who and how. It should not be this hard to understand a book.
Spoiler
Jaden: Where did that come from? I thought Verlyn the light source god who was corrupted and enslaved by Noir and Azura was daddy dearest. But it's Jaden... who's was also corrupted and enslaved by Noir and Azura. But Jaden states he has the Verlyn inside of him and considers it a beast. Is Jaden Verlyn the primary source god of light? Is Jaden a renaming/memory stripping thing like with Bethany? How is Apolymi his sister as claimed in the book? Unless Apolomi is Braith renamed/memory stripped ....

Jared:The last septiroth. Also enslaved by Noir and Azura. Who I keep getting confused with Jaden in every DH book.

Jaden begot Xev & Caleb, Xev begot Jared, Jared begot Cherise, Cherise begot Nick. Do I have this correct?

Braith begot Minokribos (first Malachai),Minokribis begot Jeros (with the help of Jaden?), Jeros begot Evander, Evander begot Adarian (?), Adarian begot Nick and a kid with a God.

And hold the Gosh Danged phone! They have been referencing Nick's brother as 'Nick's brother' through the whole dog-gone book and previous ones, but all of a sudden at 94% Kody names him as Madoc, the ancient dream hunter?

SK, what are you doing to me?

Now Kody (Nyria) is the reincarnation of the first Malachai's wife that he was tricked into killing? I liked the reincarnation story of Bethany Bathyymas and Herakles Styxx. But this book is confusing me with genealogy that I thought was cannon at this point. So now Bathyymas was born of the death of the first Malachai's wife and unborn child's murder... Not the Egyptian god's Set's daughter (which was explained that he took her memories to make Bethany after Herakles was murdered). But Kody is the Malachai's wife's soul (Dammit what is her name?).

No one confirms why Nick is losing his powers or actively searches for his two other missing generals. Really? I've never read an SK book that had no conclusion/epic triumph of good vs evil. The epilogue was great, yes, but doesn't anyone else feel like there's another half of book out there? I don't know how to rate this book. I had to reread many chapters, take notes, attempt to construct a family tree (failed) and had to go back to previous books to get the definitions of a few of the species that have been mentioned randomly.

Oh, and Cyprian. Has he been pulling Nick's strings all along? Let's alude to that even though Kody supposedly came from a future where Nick's the evil Malachai. And the time creature's can't figure out that it's not Nick messing with the timeline because they are dumb adults who don't understand (a theme in many YA books I'm not too happy with when overused).

Let's just all get some sleep and keep pretending Nick's human because that is going soooooo well. I get that Cherise can't handle it. But there is tons of other characters who could (lest we forget Bubba is a second generation hell chaser reveal). Honestly, I am getting a bit tired of 'The world is ending! We are all going to die but there is a history test with a jerky teacher so we have to think of some way to get an excuse. But the jerky teachers don't understand. And my mom would never so I've conscripted everyone who knows about me to lie to her all the time even though I claim to hate being deceived when I discover it happening to me for the greater good. I'm also going to reference the understanding of reaping what I sow but my deceit doesn't really count. And my mom will never question anything because of strategically random evil attacks via bouts of unconsciousness.'

I'm sad about how much I didn't get to enjoy this book.
