**WARNING! Cliffhanger!** (and it’s a doozy!)
Jinx is asked to investigate some creatures who have contracted a mysterious illness.
An investigation which becomes dangerous when it seems that this might involve high ranking members of the Other.
Lots of exciting stuff going on here, including progress on Jinx’s parent’s murder, some romantic advances are also made.
We also seem some answers to questions that might have been forgotten by the reader somewhere along the line!
As with the rest of the books in the series, there is plenty of exciting action, magical adventures, and mystery solving (magical and mundane).
While the main character is, of course, fascinating; it’s the side characters that continue to make this series top notch. Gato is undeniably the star of the show, though there is a new character that is proving to be almost as entertaining!
It’s not a standalone, do go back and read the previous books if you haven’t, and if you’re wondering if the series is worth it, the answer is yes. The characters are interesting, the world building phenomenal, and the concept well realized. The romance is slow burn, and the magical aspects of the story are quite unique. The cliffhangers aren’t my favourite thing, but since all the books in this story arc are already out, you won’t have to wait between them!
It’s a great read that urban fantasy fans will enjoy.
