TW: sexual assault of a child, suicidal ideation/aborted attempt, substance use & addiction// also drugged at a party (nothing happens as a result), child abuse & neglect, poverty, armed robbery, gun and general violence

Don’t let the model cover fool you, this book starts off with some HEAVY topics and it doesn’t stop from there. While Beckett may be a teenage billionaire, he’s suffering and not a soul knows why, yet everyone knows what, for the most part, is going on in Eve’s life. These two match each other perfectly with their taunts and insults and the tension and banter was done perfectly. Did it go too far at times? Absolutely, but neither knew what was going on with the other, until later of course, and both wanted to hide their vulnerabilities. How they developed together as characters was nice to see for their ages and I thoroughly enjoyed this story and will be reading her others.

I was also shocked at the underlying heavy, and traumatic, storylines. However, it made the story seem more real to me and the pain felt in some scenes was evident. While some topics may be hard to read I feel like the author did them well and had her characters respond as appropriately as they could. Which is precisely how and why I binged this in under 48 hours.
