Remember Love by Cleo Wade

hopeful inspiring fast-paced

5.0

I have followed Cleo Wade for years on social media but this is the first book of hers that I’ve read, and savored. I love how she thinks about life and grows from her experiences and uses her writing to encourage others.

This book is divided into four parts:
1. Eventually we get there
2. Worthy rebellions
3. Notes on heartbreak
4. & then we let go.

It is a mix of poetry with some paragraphs on thoughts about each area. Some are typed, some are handwritten in her cute font she uses.

Some of my favorites:
That sounds great p78
Let’s build a life we can live in
//a life with
space for soulfulness
//a life that has a home
filled with people who really know
each other
where our friends become
//our family
and
our family
become our friends

(Poem continue)

It be this way sometimes p112 / 113
“You are allowed to be a ball of contradictions.”

“It is a profound act of love to choose who you are going to be instead of living in response to who has hurt you and what has happened to you.” P119

“The ending of a relationship with someone else is usually followed by the beginning of a new relationship with yourself.” P135

“I don’t want to be understanding because you love for me requires
that I understand the ways you hurt me.”
P142 / narcissa

Rock bottom is a bottom. A place where we are given the opportunity to encounter and strengthen our foundation.” P181

“If it’s gone, give it away. If you give it away with your blessing, it was never taken from you.” P199
