Usually I can guess most of the twists in mysteries, but the pacing and setup of this one did a good job of keeping me riveted, kept me second guessing any theory I had. As much as there was a mystery to be solved, this was a character-driven story, where everyone is connected in small and not so small ways. It’s slow at times, but intriguing enough to keep interest. The writing style is strong, but it’s the pacing that lost it a star, almost two in the middle. But the last 20%, how everything fell together like tiny little magnetic puzzle pieces, regained it.
I listened to the audio. The narrator is phenomenal.
