The Night of Wishes by Michael Ende

4.0

The book is whimsy, fun, and very creative. I think children would love this a lot. Like a first step to a magical and wicked world. I like that the author did not hold back from the nightmarish images of the two witches. The illustrations helped a lot with making the book more magical. I loved the raven and the tomcat as the heroes. How they hated each other but grew to care for each other, and how they may have weaknesses but their differences helped save the world. I remember clapping when I finished the book. Mauricio finally gets to meow-sing!
