Where The Story Starts by Imogen Clark

3.0

I’m giving this one 3.5 stars. It didn’t do anything wrong for me, but it also didn’t blow my socks off. That being said, I quite enjoyed it! It was pretty clear to me what the reveal was going to be from early on. The interesting part of this book is not the story itself (though it was above satisfactory) but the way the story was told. I love a multiple perspective book! I think it keeps the reader captivated and pushes the storyline forward.

This was told from the perspective of 4 women, (2 mothers and their daughters) and in multiple timelines that switched back and forth from the past to the present.

The characters were well developed, the writing was good, and everything fell into place as I hoped it would. Not quite a thriller, not quite a contemporary. This book lives in a space of its own, and I would recommend it.
