things i love:
things i love:
- gay
- found family
- monsters and creatures and critters
- the topic of systematic discrimination and oppression is tackled in such a masterful way. it's never a sob story, or feels unrealistic despite its fantastic and magical characters. if the book was any darker, it'd feel like it was being miserable for the sake of artistic tragedy, but never once does it give off the same vibe as rich, white art students taking photos of the houseless people.
- i like how linus is just so... real. also, fat protagonist W because WE NEVER SEE IT BRUH LIKE WHY.
- seeing linus and arthur's love story unfold-- it was just so ROMANTIC BRUH I WAS GIGGLING AND SHIT OVER FOURTY YEAR OLD MEN 💀💀
- ACTUALLY GOOD DIVERSITY, NOT CORNY, NOT WEIRDLY POLITICAL, IT'S JUST THERE
things i hate:
Graphic: Racism
Discrimination against magic people as an allegory to real-life oppression and marginalization.
