I’m interested in learning how to have a more plant-based diet and I like Bittman so waited a long time for this to come off hold. Unfortunately there was so much I didn’t like about this book that I couldn’t finish it. The first several chapters were monotonous with sweeping, repetitive information and nothing that hasn’t been promoted relentlessly for the past few years. Shopping lists - boring. Categorizing food - a generally unhealthy practice. Recipes - boring. Maybe this would be a helpful book for people who have little nutritional knowledge and rely on packaged and take-out foods.
