I wanted to like this book and I think the story is actually a great one, but the writing is terrible. The point of view jumps around without warning, and it's like entire scenes are just completely missing when suddenly someone is referring to something like we were all supposed to know it occurred, but there was no actual occurrence of it in the book. I finally gave up trying to slog through this way-too-long story at about 75% done. I didn't even care what happened to the characters anymore.
